Because it lies 80 kilometres from Ischigualasto and 216 kilometres from La Rioja, Talampaya is difficult to get to. It's such a beautiful place, however, that the effort made to get here is quickly rewarded.

My suggestion

It's usual to organise a combined visit to both Talampaya and Ischigualasto from La Rioja. It all amounts to a lot of distance covered by road for just one day. I advise you to properly arrange it all in advance.

My suggestion

Talampaya Park is arid and fully exposed to the sun. Temperatures can easily reach 45°C so don't forget your hat, sunscreen and bottle of water!
