Once the capital of the Khmer Empire, Phnom Penh is a city in perpetual motion, caught between tradition and modernity.
My suggestion
Spend some time at the city's various markets, which are really where the true soul of Cambodia is to be found. My favourite thing of all: the Russian Market! And travelling around the city by tuk-tuk, a quite excellent mode of transport.

Take the time to visit S-21 prison and the killing fields Even though these visits are very gruelling they are essential during a trip to Cambodia
The Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, is a city that presents a particular image of the country and contains within it several interesting places that anyone staying in Cambodia should find worth visiting.
My suggestion
I think two days in Phnom Penh is enough time to visit the city's main sites. Additionally, try to go between November and April to avoid the worst of the heat.
