The capital of the Department of Caldas, Manizales is part of the Colombian coffee region.
My suggestion
Go there during the great festival in early January and taste the Caldas aged rum that is distilled there.

Manizales could be great for a weekend away. The town is only a thirty minute flight from Medellín and Bogotá.
