Crete
We absolutely loved Crete. The landscape is incredibly varied with dramatic mountains and beautiful coastlines. Our trip was planned so that we enjoyed a number of different locations with accommodation that was often unique, remote and comfortable, in beautiful, peaceful locations with fabulous hospitaliy. This was an active, adventurous holiday in a beautiful place which we wouldn't hesitate to return to in the future.
The best parts:
We absolutely loved the trip, the itinerary provided us with an opportunity to get an introduction to the real Crete. We enjoyed superb and unique accommodation from mountains to the sea, city and country, hiking, culture, history, museums and ancient sights, delicious food and the wonderful Cretan hospitality. The varied landscapes that we traveled through or visited were breathtaking. The individual trip guide book prepared for us by our travel agent was extremely useful and ensured that we made the very most of our time in Crete.
The worst parts:
There were a couple of days during our holiday when the driving distance was just a little bit too much and was quite tiring.

From our arrival in Athens all hotels were chosen with our requests in mind - central locations - level of service extremely comfortable. In Athens had tour with archaeological specialist Dimitri who was professional, knowledgeable and extremely interesting. On to Chania where Penelope met us, took us for Cretan after overnight cruise breakfast and filled us in on our itinerary for rest of our tour. Our 'Bible' made by Chryssa proved infallible - tried her restaurant choices in each location. Santorini was as mind blowing as Chryssa had predicted. Fabulous trip - would highly recommend Chryssa and her team. Merci Chryssa.
The best parts:
Chryssa was able to tailor our trip to our wishes within our budget even with the inconvenience of major holiday of Easter .
The worst parts:
Would have liked to spend more time on Crete - in Chania.
