It is really pleasant to walk about this colorful colonial town. And Valladolid is perfectly situated near to Yucatan's main Mayan archaeological sites.

My suggestion

I decided to go to the Main Square at sundown and a surprising concert was waiting for me. Perched in the branches, flocks of birds started to sing at the tops of their voices, an unexpected but welcome cacophony!

My suggestion

Like Merida, Yucatan has managed to keep its soul intact thanks to its colonial architecture, but apart from that there is relatively little reason to spend much time here. It's a good place from which to get to Chichcn Itza, but that's about it.
