What our travelers think about their stay
Arequipa, or the White City, is a peaceful place, possessed of a its own unique charm, and lying at the foot of three imposing volcanoes: Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu. A city that feels good to visit.
My suggestion
When it comes to somewhere to spend a nice, relaxing time in the evening in Arequipa, there's nothing better than going to explore the Plaza de Armas. It's the perfect place in which to admire Arequipa's architecture and enjoy the peace and tranquillity the city has to offer.
At an altitude of 2300m, or around 7500 ft, Arequipa is a Peruvian town where the historic and the contemporary combine in perfect harmony.
My suggestion
A little bonus of this town is that it has 300 days of guaranteed sunshine per year! Don't forget your sun lotion.

My suggestion
Be wary of the false taxis! People have talked about a risk of kidnapping. It's the town's downside. If possible you should get your hotel to reserve you an official taxi. If not, note the licence plate number before you get in.
