I had been to Scotland three years before and really wanted to go back.
my favorite moments: the highlands, amazing!
the trip was very well organized, we saw amazing little towns, lakes, highlands, castles and more castles, the sea, isle of Skye and Edinburgh, thanks to Con, who did a great job figuring out what we really wanted to see and also thanks to our amazing chauffeur Bill. He went over and beyond his duties and really helped us to see even more places. esp. from the Outlander series. The hotels were good, breakfast always included which was very nice. the weather really was good, very little rain. The local people are extremely friendly and helpful. We ate in fabulous restaurants, always very fresh food and great service. Overall a trip we will never forget!
1. one suggestion is for your travel agency to really check the opening hours of all castles, parks, etc... On sunday we went to Falkland and got there at 9.45 am and the local castle opened at 1100am. We did not go in. Also most places close early, 430 -500 pm.
2. Linlithgow palace was also closed for filming ( we were advised)
3. the hotel in Portree was very cozy, but the single room was so small, the my friend had to stay in my room, above her head a slanted ceiling.
4. Airth castle on the outside gorgeous, on the inside disappointing, nothing what we expected. they are many other hotels there that are very nice. In our room the shower was not working well, the toilet not either.
these are few comments considering everything that went into organizing this trip.
