Jujuy is a city located in northwest Argentina. Lying in the foothills of the Andes at an altitude of 1,300 metres, it serves primarily as a place to stop-off at on the way to Bolivia. In fact Jujuy is an important point of transit for those travelling on to Chile or Bolivia.

My suggestion

Don't stay here for long. You should just consider Jujuy as somewhere to make a quick visit to during your travels in Argentina. Anything else would be a waste of your time. In northern Argentina, where there are significant distances to cover, time is precious.

My suggestion

If you want to visit the region there are two places you can stay. Salta is the most beautiful but Jujuy is more practical because it is closer to the sights. It's up to you.
