Molinos, in North West Argentina, is a nice place to stop between the villages of Cafayate and Cachi.
My suggestion
It's a good idea to get to Molinos at lunch time because there aren't any other villages where you can eat between Cafayate and Cachi.

Village in the Calchaqui Valleys, in north-west Argentina, between Cafayate and Cachi.
My suggestion
If you don't have your own car, forget about it. Getting there and back is expensive and complicated.
