The Grand Canyon in Australia? Yes, it's not a mix-up. It is situated in the magnificent Blue Mountains National Park in New South Wales, close to Sydney.

My suggestion
Go in the direction of Blackheath and stop at the Evans lookout or at the picnic area. Half a day is enough to see this site, less impressive than the American Grand Canyon. In the case of heavy rain, the site may be closed.
This part of Australia is unique and distinguishes itself from the other part of Queensland and the rest of the country by its impressive rain forests, deserted beaches, and very diverse animal and plant life. You must have heard people talk about the "wet tropics" which is home 36% of the country's animal species.
