North of <a href="/bolivia/">Salar de Uyuni</a> at an altitude of 3,680 m, Salar de Coipasa is the second largest salt desert in Bolivia. It measures close to 2,200 km² and borders Lake Coipasa.
Like its illustrious neighbour, the second largest salt flats in the country is the outcome of the water of Lake Michin evaporating. To explore it, choose the period from April to November. Outside this time frame, it's the rainy season and the access road to the salt flats is difficult to pass.
