Barranquilla is a port city located in Colombia's Atlántico department and lying just a stone's throw from the Caribbean Sea.
My suggestion
If you happen to be in Barranquilla or the surrounding area in the month of February, be sure not to miss the city's carnival, which is inscribed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and is said to be one of the most visually impressive carnivals in Colombia.
Whether it's misty or sunny, you'll love the unusual landscape in the Cocora Valley. The enchanting ambiance and the sheer number of wax palms, a national symbol, are impressive, to say the least!
