Guatemala family vacations

During my trip to Guatemala, I wanted to go off the beaten track a little, so I went to visit Santa Cruz del Quiche. The town, surrounded by the Altiplano, surprised me. I found a really lovely hotel just opposite the bus terminal and I left my bag there. I then wondered the streets aimlessly and, of course, I arrived at the market. There, the colour of the "huipils" (traditional blouses) and skirts is red, and the women wear a "tocoyal" with pompoms on their heads. They were surprised to see me and were eager to chat with me. They told me about the terrible floods experienced by all regions (I'd seen the mudslides along the road upon arrival). I looked for a little restaurant at the market to relieve my hunger and then continued my trip by visiting, of course, the white church which stands out proudly in the square!
