Puri is an Odisha State town, in eastern India. It's also one of the country's holiest sites.

My suggestion

During July, Puri holds the Rath-Yatra Festival, when 3 chariots cross the town to reach the Gundicha Temple. Each chariot bears an effigy of a god, in this case those of Balabhadra, Subhadra and Jagannath.

Beautiful temples and a beach worth lazing on... Puri is certainly a seductive place!

My suggestion

Explore the town and its temples before heading to Konark for the day!
