Mahabalipuram is the home of sculpture, and offers numerous training courses to locals who want to learn stone work techniques.
At 58km from Madras, sits the village of Mahabalipuram, also known as Mamallapuram. Situated on the shores of the Indian Ocean, it breathes peace and tranquility.

Towards the end of each December, it holds a big dance festival, where spectacular, traditional dancing is on show.
