The golden citadel of Amber is located approximately twelve kilometres from the pink city of Jaipur, in Rajasthan.
My suggestion
It makes sense to combine your visit to Amber with one to Jaipur. By going to the tourism office, you will save time and money on journeys, and will be able to have a guide. Devote only one whole day to visiting Amber.

My suggestion

It is possible to ride up to the fort on the back of an elephant. Though conditions for these animals have improved over the last few years, cases of mistreatment have been reported. I therefore advise you not to climb onto the back of one even if you take yourself for a Maharaja, not even for a second.
