Muang Ngoy: How to get there?
1hr boat ride from Nong Khiaw / 170 km from Luang Prabang by boat
Muang Ngoy is a village that doesn't have any roads, (and so no cars), that you can only get to by boat. Peace surrounded by mountains.
My suggestion
Play bowls with the Laotians, and drink some Lao-Lao but not too much - watch out for the hangover!

Situated in the north of Laos, Muang Ngoi Neua is a little traditional townthat sits by the River Nam Ou.
My suggestion
Expect to stay two or three days - that way you'll have time to walk to neighbouring villages that are a few kilometres from Muang Ngoi and even have the chance to stay in people's homes! Ideal if you want to meet the local Laotians.

My suggestion
In my opinion, the end-of-the-world atmosphere that Muang Ngoy offers you justifies a stay of at least two days to take advantage of the area.

Muang Noi Neua is a tiny village in northern Laos, nestled in the mountains by the River Nam Ou. This remote paradise is attracting more and more tourists. The scenery is enchanting...
My suggestion
Think about hiring a guide to take you around the region. Bear in mind the forest is incredibly dense and the trails hard to follow. Make sure you don't get lost!
