What makes Zawoja a very pleasant destination is the natural environment in which it's located. Spacious, green and verdant, and set in a landscape of grasslands and conifer forests, the village of Zawoja has all the attractive features so typical of the Carpathians. Its numerous wooden houses – of a type traditional to the Beskids Mountains region – blend harmoniously and unobtrusively into the local landscape. 
The village church, dedicated to Saint Clement, is a simple, elegant wooden construction of the kind only the Carpathians know how to build. Wandering around Zawoja, exploring its little hamlets and walking the local hills, is a very pleasant, enjoyable experience.
Zawoja serves primarily, of course, as a good base from which to climb the Babia Góra massif, which has such beautiful hiking trails to offer. And when you return from the mountains, once evening has fallen, you're absolutely guaranteed a warm, friendly, sociable atmosphere and delicious, succulent local specialities at the village's karczma – the rustic hostels common to the Carpathians.
