This morning, board a bush plane for a 30-minute flight to your remote lodge, accessible only by air. Land on a vast, frozen lake in the heart of the pristine wilderness of the Northwest Territories. After check-in, settle into a cozy lodge room or a comfortable, heated trapper-style cabin nestled in the forest. Departure from the lodge towards Yellowknife. Afternoon free to explore the city. Head to the Old Town, where you’ll find several historic wooden buildings, which were once mining camps. Climb to the top of “The Rock” for a view of the surrounding area and a memorial for bush pilots. You could join an excursion to discover Indigenous culture in the Dene community of Dettah on the ice road (optional) and share their way of life through history, language, and connection to the land.
