Canada’s oldest national park, this spectacular territory can be explored through a multitude of hiking trails, on horseback, or by boat. But hop on an electric bike and explore Banff and its surroundings (included). Ride along the breathtakingly scenic Bow Valley Parkway to Johnston Canyon. Passing by Vermilion Lakes and along the edge of the rugged Sawtooth Range, this is a prime black and grizzly bear spotting zone. Once at the Johnston Canyon trailhead, explore at your own leisure the stunning lower canyon walk, an easy 2.4 km trail along iron catwalks pinned to limestone cliffs, and venture through a small cave to face a roaring waterfall mere feet away. By car, discover the famous Icefields Parkway, heading towards Jasper. Numerous lakes, glaciers, coniferous forests, passes, and waterfalls will follow along the 300 km route. Join a small group and hike 4 km through Jasper’s wildfire-affected landscape to a scenic summit while discovering the region’s history, geology, ecology, and the natural role of wildfires with your expert guide.
